Ngwarati Mashonga - Executive Director, Riders for Health International

Ngwarati is a Health Logistics and Supply Chains specialist, Fleet, Supply Chain, Operations and Transport Management expert. He is currently leading Riders for Health Ebola response in Liberia. Prior to this set-up in Liberia, Ngwarati also participated in set-up and supervision of Sample Transport projects in Malawi, Zambia, Lesotho and Zimbabwe

Ngwarati joined Riders for Health in 1996, has worked up the organisation from being a motorcycle mechanic to be a Country Director for Riders for Health Zimbabwe programme from 2001 to 2006. In 2007 Ngwarati was transferred from Zimbabwe to the UK to oversee all operations across all programmes in charge of Programme Directors, initially starting as a Field programme Co-ordinator in 2007 and then Operations director from 2008. Ngwarati led the set-up of Riders Kenya programme and was part of the set-up of all existing Riders programmes (The Gambia, Nigeria, Lesotho, Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe and now Liberia). Ngwarati’ s development and growth from the work floor, many years of working in Africa and the United Kingdom gives him a unique understanding and experience of the practical work delivery, administrative work to support transport and a deeper understanding to solve issues and problems as they occur in any environment in the world.

Ngwarati is a holder of MSc in International Logistics and Supply Chain Management attained from the University of South Wales and is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute and Logistics (CILT UK), a holder of a Bachelor of Commerce degree with Specialisation in Transport Economics from University of South Africa (UNISA) and a Skilled worker Class 1 in motorcycle mechanics in addition to other business related courses from Leadership Trust and Said Business School, Oxford University.
